All plastic except PVC and PET can be used in this process. Plastic feedstock can be sourced from various industries including municipal plastic waste and industrial plastic waste, tire waste, and even plastic waste building up in the oceans.
Due to the chlorine content in PVC and the phthalate content in PET, these two plastics should not be used in the process. Plastics from the following categories can be used:
